Innovating from the Triple Helix perspective
The story behind our name
Play Video
In the early 1970s, two Argentines, physicist Jorge Sábato and political scientist Natalio Botana, proposed a model of organization between sectors: Government, scientific-technological infrastructure and Productive Structure. The three vertices, represented by them, give rise to what is commonly referred to as the Sábato Triangle.
The importance of this model lies in the fact that the articulation between the edges of the triangle is based on the intra-relationships, inter-relationships and extra-relationships between these sectors.
Two decades later, Henry Etzkowitz and Loet Leydesdorff, from Amsterdam University, improved the triangle proposal through an innovation model called Triple Helix, which symbolizes the articulation between the State, the Company and the University as if they were three blades of a spiral-shaped helix.
Our vision is to help this helix turn and give a boost to the pharmaceutical and healthcare products industry.
